HOW TO USE YOUR TEXAS BUCK BUSTER

Field dressing Whitetail deer and other wild game has never been easier with any tool. The Texas Buck Buster makes all other knives obsolete.
U.S. Patent #D442342

Four Steps to Field Dressing Using the Texas Buck Buster

1. Open the carcass
2. Split the pelvis
3. Split the breast bone
4. Remove the organs

Open the Carcass

The sooner you field dress your animal after shooting, the better the meat will be. Quick field dressing insures rapid loss of body heat and prevents the contents of the animal's digestive tract from contaminating the meat. To field dress the animal using your Texas Buck Buster, first place the animal on it's back and spread the hind legs. Open up the carcass by cutting around the pelvic area and then up the animal's midline to the front of the rib cage using the hook near the front of the Texas Buck Buster. When using ordinary knives to perform this procedure, extreme care must be taken to avoid cutting the paunch and intestines. However, the unique, patented design of the Texas Buck Buster virtually eliminates both the risk of meat contamination and the risk of personal injury.

2. Split the Pelvis   3. Split the Breast Bone   4. Remove the Organs

Split the Pelvis

Once the animal has been split up the midline you are ready to split the pelvis. To split the animal's pelvis, you must first score the underside of the bone at the end nearest to the animal's head. This is done by first standing to the rear of the animal and then resting the bottom edge of the Texas Buck Buster on top of the pelvis parallel to the midline and as close to the center of the pelvis as possible. Next, raise the handle of the Texas Buck Buster to a 45° angle with the pelvis and slowly pull the Texas Buck Buster toward you until the center of the hook comes into contact with the front of the pelvis. Then, smoothly and rather swiftly lower the handle of the Texas Buck Buster to create a small cut on the underside of the pelvic bone where the two sides connect. To complete the process, simply turn the Texas Buck Buster around so that the handle is pointed toward the animal's head and slide the pelvic bone into the fork of the Texas Buck Buster. It is important that the Texas Buck Buster is pushed as far onto the pelvis as possible. Next, place one foot on each of the animal's hind legs, grab the handle of the Texas Buck Buster with both hands to avoid slipping, and quickly pull the handle toward you creating a smooth cut through the pelvic bone. The two sides of the pelvis can be spread farther apart by quickly pulling up on the animal's tail while still standing on the hind legs.

1. Open the Carcass   3. Split the Breast Bone   4. Remove the Organs

Split the Breast Bone

Now you are ready to split the animal's breast bone which is done in much the same way that the pelvis was split. First, use the hook on the Texas Buck Buster to cut through the cartilage at the back of the rib cage until you reach bone. Stand over the animal so that you are facing the front end and push the fork of the Texas Buck Buster over the breast bone making sure that you push it as far onto the bone as possible. Now, quickly pull the handle of the Texas Buck Buster up and slightly away from you to make your first cut. Because the breast bone is too long to split with one cut you will have to use a different method than you used on the pelvis. After your first cut, simply push the fork of the Texas Buck Buster as far as possible onto the breast bone once again, and then pull up and slightly away from you just as you did in making the first cut. Continue this process until you have completely split open the rib cage.

1. Open the Carcass   2. Split the Pelvis    4. Remove the Organs

Remove the Organs

All you have left to do to complete the field dressing process is to remove the organs from the carcass. To do this, reach forward into the body cavity and use the hook of the Texas Buck Buster to cut the esophagus as close to the head as possible. Once the esophagus has been cut, begin to slowly pull the esophagus toward the rear of the animal using the hook to cut loose any blood vessels or tissue that do not pull free. When you reach the diaphragm area of the animal use the hook on the Texas Buck Buster once again to cut the muscles of the diaphragm away from the ribs. Continue pulling the esophagus toward the rear of the animal and using the hook to cut away any remaining tissue until everything is completely detached from the inside of the body cavity and can be removed from the carcass. Finally, remove any remaining viscera and drain all of the excess blood from the body cavity by lifting the animal's front end up if possible.

This completes the field dressing process. We hope that the Texas Buck Buster has made what is usually the most unpleasant part of hunting to be faster, easier, and most importantly more safe for you. We thank you for your valued business and hope that you tell everyone you know about the one tool that was designed specifically to make your hunting trips better by taking the hassle and worry out of field dressing the animals that you harvest.
